11 – The Allied Sovereigns at Petworth House |

Following the defeat and exile of Napoleon the Coalitition Allies made a 21day visit to England in June 1814 and were entertained by the 3rd Earl of Egremont at Petworth House and artist Thomas Phillips depicted them in the Marble Hall of Petworth House. The display featured an enlarged reproduction of the painting and other Napoleonic War items. The Leconfield Estates' part in the restoration of Hougoumont Farm was also incorporated. |
